Fatigue Delamination Monitoring in Composite Structures by Guided Wave Method

چکیده
This paper presents an effective parameter for fatigue delamination detection and monitoring by guided wave method. The finite element analysis and the Time of Flight parameter defined as a time between guided wave interrogated by an actuator and first wave captured by a sensor was introduced to observe the behaviour of the defected structure. The relationship between ToF and delamination size for different localization of the defect is presented for different configuration of the composite beam.

This paper presents a method for detecting multiple delaminations in composite laminates using non-contact phased arrays. The phased arrays are implemented with a non-contact scanning laser Doppler vibrometer (SLDV). The array imaging algorithm is performed in the frequency domain where both the guided wave dispersion effect and direction dependent wave properties are considered. By using the n...
متن کاملWave Propagation Analysis in Composite Laminates Containing a Delamination Using a Three-Dimensional Spectral Element Method
A three-dimensional spectral element method SEM was developed for analysis of Lamb wave propagation in composite laminates containing a delamination. SEM is more efficient in simulating wave propagation in structures than conventional finite element method FEM because of its unique diagonal form of the mass matrix. Three types of composite laminates, namely, unidirectional-ply laminates, cross-...

Ultrasonic guided waves are used to detect the delamination between skin and honeycomb of a composite helicopter rotor blade. Theoretical work is carried out for guided waves in the trailing edge of a rotor blade, which is a multilayer composite skin/NOMEX half space structure. The dispersion relation is obtained with the global matrix method. Theoretically driven experiments are conducted on a...

A damage detection technique, which does not rely on any past baseline signals, is proposed to assess damage in composite plates by using an enhanced time reversal method. A time reversal concept of modern acoustics has been adapted to guided-wave propagation to improve the delectability of local defects in composite structures. In particular, wavelet-based signal processing techniques have bee...
